For this taping technique, you will need three strips of tape in the shape of an I. For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly.

A strip of tape will be appropriate from the front of the shoulder to the crook of the elbow. This tape is cut at the top about 5 cm to two equal reins. Before the remaining tape is cut from the bottom again to two equal reins, an area without incision of about 5 cm follows. The two additional tapes are cut to a length of approx. 15 cm and prepared as a Y-shape. The base should be about 5 cm. When cutting, make sure that you round off the corners, as this will increase the adhesion of the tape.

Preparation and application of the Kintex Kinesiology Tape

To ensure better adhesion, you should first remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and also clean it with alcohol. Take the stretched arm backwards so that a pre-stretch is created. Loosen the backing paper at the area without an incision and stick it on above the crook of the arm under maximum tension, so that the two short reins point downwards towards the hand. Now glue these two reins spread, up and down, without pulling. Then loosen the backing paper of the upper long rein and glue it around the top of the biceps under tension until it rests against the shoulder. Attach the end of this rein without pulling. Then tape the second long rein, also under tension but this time below the bicep, up to the shoulder and let the end go out without tension as well.

In the next step, take one of the prepared Y-tapes with a length of 15 cm and tape the base on the front shoulder slightly below the intersection of the first tape strip. Then tape the two reins up and down at about a 45° angle while pulling gently. Glue both ends of the reins, as always, without pulling. The third and last tapestry strip is also glued with the base on the front of the shoulder, but slightly above the last base. Both reins are applied with an angle of about 45° up and down, as before, but this time without pulling.

Please paint the tapes of the layout well, we recommend always to paint from the inside to the outside. This activates the adhesive and increases the adhesion of the tape. Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)
