The skin-friendly IQ-Tape with silica gel balls on the adhesive surface, which sink into the skin, is very durable, waterproof and tear-resistant. By lowering the balls, you reach deeper tissue layers such as the free fascias and thus increase the massage effect in your own movement, which also has a very beneficial effect on the lymphatic system. The tape is very adaptable and stretchable due to the undulating S-shaped structure of the hypoallergenic acrylic adhesive.
Application comfort and application duration
Just a few minutes after the tape is applied, it is no longer perceived as annoying and thus there is no restriction of activity by the tape bandage. Swimming, bathing, showering or doing sports is possible without any problems with the bandage. The breathable material of the tape allows sweating and allows the skin underneath to breathe. The application time of the IQ-Tape is comparable to the conventional Kinesiology Tape and is about one week. Allergic reactions rarely occur when using the tape. These are usually caused by the current intake of medication or intensified by the simultaneous consumption of alcohol or nicotine. In case of doubt, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Compared to the conventional Kinesiology Tape, please note two important changes in the application technique. Do not stretch the tape with 100% but with a maximum of 25%. Before applying the tape, the body is not pre-stretched, but remains neutral, or you go into the counter-stretch to increase the desired effect. By modelling or rubbing, the acrylic adhesive is activated and unfolds its adhesive power.
The IQ-Tape was developed in competitive sports and therefore has a strong adhesive which can leave residues. If the fasciators (balls) leave reddening of the skin, this is intentional in order to achieve the effect of the connective tissue massage.

What do the different colors mean?
Kintex IQ-Tapes are available in 4 different colors.
Basically, the choice of colors plays a rather subordinate role, even if the colors can be used supportively for therapy. According to kinesiology color theory, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), the colors red and pink are considered activating, blue and green cooling, black and dark blue strengthening and beige and yellow neutral. Many physical therapists leave the choice of tape color to their patients.
The reason for this is simple: the patient should feel comfortable with the tape and not find it disturbing.
Our Kintex Kinesiology Tape is very versatile and can be used for a variety of problems, e.g. pain or movement restrictions can be alleviated by a tape. A treatment of headaches, migraines, arthrosis, muscular hardening, intervertebral disc problems, lymphedema, menstrual problems and many other areas of application is possible, among others. Our reports on the effectiveness of Kinesiology Tapes are based on our years of experience, they are not scientifically proven. Some different application techniques for our tapes can also be found in our video instructions:
