You need a tape strip in the shape of an I and a slightly shorter tape strip, which you cut like a fan. For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly. When cutting the tape, make sure that you round off the corners, this will increase the adhesion of the tape.

Preparation and application of Kintex Kinesiology Tape

To ensure better adhesion, you should remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area beforehand and also clean it with alcohol. For the application, your knee should be bent at a 30° angle. In the first step, tape the base below the kneecap without pulling. Apply the kinesiology tape in the course of the inner ligament with moderate tension and let the end of the first strip finally run out without tension.

Apply the second strip in the shape of a fan with the base on the side in the course of the inner ligament and make sure that the kinesiology tape does not run into the back of the knee. Now place the top rein over the kneecap with a moderate pull and let the end of the rein run out again without pulling. Place the middle rein over the kneecap with a moderate pull and then let the end of the rein run out without pulling. Place the third and last rein under the kneecap using the same technique as the previous ones.

Instructions for the use of Kintex kinesiology tape.

Kintex Tape should be left on for approximately 1 week, with the main effect expected in the first 3-5 days after application. You can shower, bathe, swim or do sports with the tape applied. Even sweating is possible under the tape.
