Kintex Classic Tape 5 cm Black
5 cm x 5 m | Free color choice
Our kinesiology tapes are often used for sports injuries or in physiotherapy. They are used to support and stabilize muscles, fascia, ligaments or Joints.
For this tape application, you need four strips of tape in the shape of an I with half the width (2.5 cm), 2 small strips of tape with approximately 2.5 cm x 4 cm and a Y and an I tape. You can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and cut the tape strips accordingly. Measure the length of the strips on your patient and make sure that you round off the corners when cutting. This will increase the adhesion of the tape.
Preparation and application of Kintex kinesiology tape
To ensure better adhesion, you should first remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and clean it with alcohol. Please apply all tapes without tension and start with one of the halved strips below the ear along the neck muscles to the collarbone. The head should be slightly pre-stretched at this point. Repeat the process on the other side. Tape the small tape about 4 cm long in front of the ear approximately in the area of the temporomandibular joint, again on both sides. Apply the following tapes to the back of the patient. Start with another halved strip and apply it behind the ear while slightly pre-stretching the head. Tape along the course of the upper portion of the trapezius muscle to about the shoulder. The patient now tilts his head forward and you place the base of the Y tape between the shoulder blades. Stick the two reins along the spine onto the muscles. A last strip in the shape of an I is now applied at about the level of the seventh cervical vertebra with a short pull (release immediately after application) over the two reins of the Y Tape.
