Our kinesiology tapes are often used for sports injuries or in physiotherapy. They are used to support and stabilize muscles, fascia, ligaments or Joints.
For this tape application you need three strips of tape with half width (2.5 cm). For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly. Measure the length of the first strip from the back of the wrist to above the fingertip. The second strip is for wrapping around the joint. The third strip can be even narrower, as it is only for fixation. When cutting, make sure that you round off the corners, this way the adhesion of the tape is increased.
Preparation and application of Kintex Kinesiology Tape
To ensure better adhesion, you should first remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and also clean it with alcohol. First apply the base (the beginning) without tension on the back of the hand. Now apply the tape with a light pull over the base of the finger, up to the base of the fingernail and smooth it down. Apply the rest of the tape without pulling it over the fingernail and the fingertip. Now take the second strip and glue it around the injured joint. Finally, fix the tape with the smallest strip.
Instructions for the use of Kintex kinesiology tape.
Kintex Tape should be left on for approximately 1 week, with the main effect expected in the first 3-5 days after application. You can shower, bathe, swim or do sports with the tape applied. Even sweating is possible under the tape.
