For this tape application you will need four strips of tape in the shape of an I. For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear off the tape strips accordingly. When cutting the tape, make sure that you round off the corners, this will increase the adhesion of the tape.

Preparation and application of Kintex Kinesiology Tape

To ensure better adhesion, you should first remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and clean it additionally with alcohol. Remove the backing paper of the I-shaped tape by tearing it in the middle. Then bend over and have your partner apply the tape along the spine directly above the pain point. Make sure that the tape is applied under maximum tension. First apply the beginning and the end of the tape without stretching. Then take the second strip of kinesiology tape and apply it horizontally, also under maximum tension, over the pain point. Make sure that the tapes cross each other. Proceed in the same way with the third and fourth I-shaped tapes, but apply them diagonally to the already applied tapes.

Now stand up straight. If there are waves on the tape, the taping is finished, otherwise repeat the steps of the described taping again. You should also notice immediate pain relief on the lumbar vertebra.

Instructions for the use of Kintex kinesiology tape.

Kintex Tape should be left on for approximately 1 week, with the main effect expected in the first 3-5 days after application. You can shower, bathe, swim or do sports with the tape applied. Even sweating is possible under the tape.
