With this application technique we will show you how to relieve and counteract your neck pain with the help of kinesiology tapes. For this tape application you need a tape strip in the shape of a Y and another in the shape of an I, this one should be a bit shorter. You can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly. When cutting the tape, make sure that you round off the corners. This will increase the adhesion of the tape.

Preparation and application of Kintex Kinesiology Tape

To ensure better adhesion, remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and clean it with alcohol. Loosen the backing paper of the Y-strip by tearing it at the base. Then bend your head forward and have your partner apply the tapes as shown in our Kintex video. Tape the base between the shoulder blades first and then place both reins along the spine, around the 7th cervical vertebra, up to the hairline. Next, apply the shorter tape in the shape of an I to the location of the neck pain. To do this, tear the backing paper in the middle of the tape and apply it to the painful area with maximum tension. The two ends are stuck on without pulling and painted on. The resulting heat activates the adhesive.
