Kintex Classic Tape 5 cm Dark Blue
5 cm x 5 m | Free color choice
Our kinesiology tapes are often used for sports injuries or in physiotherapy. They are used to support and stabilize muscles, fascia, ligaments or Joints.
This taping technique is used to apply a tape to the ankle joint. You need four tape strips in the shape of an I for this tape application, whereby three strips may be somewhat shorter. For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly. When cutting the tape, make sure that you round off the corners, this will increase the adhesion of the tape.
Preparations and application of the Kintex Kinesiology Tape
To ensure better adhesion, you should first remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and also clean it with alcohol. Loosen the backing paper of the longer I strip by tearing the backing paper at the base. Bend the foot upwards (toes towards the nose) and have a partner apply the tapes. Start by taping the base to the inside of the ankle. Then apply the tape with maximum tension under the foot along the outside and let the end run out without tension. In the second step, tear the backing paper of the shorter tapes in the middle and stick it over the painful area with maximum tension. The ends of the tape are taped on without pulling and this step is repeated with the other two tapes. To check, move the tape on the ankle. If there are waves on the tape, there is enough tension on it.
