You will need a strip of tape in the shape of a Y, which you should measure from the knee joint to about the middle of the buttocks. In the lower area, divide about 7.5 cm of the tape into two equal reins. For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly. When cutting the tape, make sure that you round off the corners, this will increase the adhesion of the tape.

Preparation and application of Kintex Kinesiology Tape

To ensure better adhesion, you should remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area beforehand and also clean it with alcohol. Before applying the tape, the patient bends forward. Tear open the backing paper below the incisions and stick this area without pulling just above the back of the knee up to the top of the buttocks. Next, remove the backing paper from the first small rein and place it around the outside of the back of the knee. Do the same with the second rein in the opposite direction.

Finally, spread the entire tape from the inside to the outside. This activates the adhesive and increases the adhesion of the tape.

Instructions for the use of Kintex kinesiology tape.

Kintex Tape should be left on for approximately 1 week, with the main effect expected in the first 3-5 days after application. You can shower, bathe, swim or do sports with the tape applied. Even sweating is possible under the tape.
