For the tape application you need a tape strip in the shape of a Y, in addition a hole for the elbow is cut out in this tape. You should position the hole about 5 cm behind the base. Cut the two reins of the Y about 7 cm long. For this you can either use our Kintex Classic Tape and cut the strips yourself or you can use our Kintex PreCut Tape and tear the tape strips accordingly. When cutting the tape, make sure that you round off the corners to increase the adhesion of the tape.

Preparation and application of Kintex Kinesiology Tape

To ensure better adhesion, you should first remove all oils, creams and hair from the affected area and also clean it with alcohol. Peel off the backing paper of the Y-shaped tape at the cut hole. Bring your triceps into pretension by placing your hand on the opposite shoulder. Place the hole just above the elbow bone, taping the base towards the wrist without pulling. Next, run the tape along the triceps to the shoulder blade without tension. Finally, apply the lower rein of the tape in the direction of the spine and the upper rein in the direction of the shoulder blade. Now guide your arm backwards, if it forms distinct waves on the tape, the application technique has been implemented correctly. Otherwise, repeat the last steps of taping again.

Instructions for the use of Kintex kinesiology tape.

Kintex Tape should be left on for approximately 1 week, with the main effect expected in the first 3-5 days after application. You can shower, bathe, swim or do sports with the tape applied. Even sweating is possible under the tape.
